What is a road vignette?

It is the charge for using a country’s national roads and motorways. In most of Europe the vignette is electronic: it is registered against your licence plate and checked automatically by cameras, with nothing to stick on the windscreen.

What do I need to buy one?

Your vehicle details and a payment card. The minimum is the country of registration, the licence plate, the VIN and the vehicle category. Some countries also ask for make, model, year, number of seats or weight.

Romania is the exception: it asks for the 9-digit vehicle registration certificate number, because the Romanian system identifies the vehicle by that document.

How long until I get it?

The vignette is issued once payment clears and arrives by email. For Moldova and Romania that is immediate. European vignettes move through paid, processing and completed, usually within a minute, and the document appears once the order is completed.

When does it start and expire?

You choose the start date in the form. Pick today and it is valid from the moment payment clears; pick a future date and it starts at 00:00 that day and expires at the end of the last day of the period you chose.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

No. Road vignettes are non-transferable and non-refundable once issued, in every country we cover. Check the plate, the country and the period before confirming payment.

By credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The amount is shown in the form before you pay and is charged in MDL at the commercial rate on the day of the order.
